Our corn husks are processed using a proprietary method that solves the 3 biggest problems in the corn husk industry and adds a level of convenience not available in other brands.
Mold- The corn husk industry has a major problem with mold in the corn husks. Our sanitizing and processing method along with our good manufacturing practices have proven to be superior among traditional industry methods in preventing the growth of mold in corn husks.
Vinegar Smell- We don't use vinegar in our process and as a result the leaves are free of that annoying vinegar smell that many people dislike.
Dry husks- Corn husks will dehydrate in a manner of weeks. When this happens the consumer has to re-moisturize the husks for a minimum of 12 hours to be able to work with them. Dry husks will also break and crack causing an increase in rejects. Thanks to our patent pending process our leaves will remain moist for as long as the package remains sealed. This means that the product can sit in a warehouse or shelf for months without the risk of dehydration.
Sulfur Dioxide Smell- The majority of the manufactures currently packaging corn husks have little to no formal food processing training and will apply excessive levels of sulfur dioxide to the husks to try and prevent the growth of mold. The smell is so strong that it will remain in the leaves for weeks leaving a strong chemical smell while in warehousing, the store shelf and when being utilized by the end user. The excess sulfur dioxide is not only dangerous and irritating to the consumers and warehouse personnel but will also cause rusting in transportation trailers and the warehouse. Our processing method and packaging technique eliminates the smell of sulfur dioxide as well as all the problems mentioned above.
Convenience: Our processing method and packaging technique maintains the husks soft and moisturized. Requiring only a quick rinse and a short period of hydration. Our product is perfect for the modern consumer that doesn't have the time or the patience to start the hydration process of the husks 24 hours prior to needing them.
